Sorority Life - Disney Interactive
This was my first pass at an IP character reboot for Playdom's wildly popular game Sorority Life. Shortly after arriving at Playdom I discovered that ALL the character art used to build the game's brand was purchased from the clipart site iStockphoto. Needless to say I was shocked. :(
This meant that anyone online could purchase and use the same characters that we used to establish our game for any other purpose. (Major brand building issue) I wanted to change that and establish a new character look and feel that would be uniquely ours.
The new character first appeared on game gift cards to be sold across the US in Walgreens and Safeway. I created her in Illustrator. The version on the left is the final art, the version on the right shows all the Bezier curves, paths and points that I created selected to show the complexity of the final illustration.
